Keeping Crime Off Our Streets !

Spring 2007

Crime Figures - October 2006 to February 2007

We are, as before, reporting Crime Figures by road, so that Villagers can see just how their road has been 'hit'. With these figures again covering 5 months, 32 roads are involved - a heartening decrease in roads being 'hit', down from 38 roads last time covering 5 months as well, but once again - some are new roads, and some roads previously 'hit' are crime-free this time. As usual - whilst Car Crime continues to be a major problem it is worth noting that while Theft from Vehicles (TfV) remains high, Theft of Vehicles (ToV) is happily lower - 3 v 7 last report.

As before, please note that the 7 incidents of Drug Possession reported below do not indicate that this is necessarily a Village problem, but more that arrests have been made in local Car Parks.

Please note that continued vigilance at all time - in both our homes and cars - is vital.

Bottle Tombola at Christmas Mini Market, Saturday, 2 DECEMBER 2006

Many thanks to all our NHW Members and Co-ordinators for the fabulous range of Bottles that were donated for this, our single fundraising event in the year. We were delighted to raise £116.30 and The Village Centre benefited by a further £ 58 too.

Join NHW

If YOU are not part of NHW - can we suggest that you should consider joining ? 'Safer Stoke Poges' currently covers 70 % of the Village, and as well as being the 'eyes and ears' of Crime Prevention in one's own road, Members do find that it helps the community spirit, and enables one to get to know one's neighbours as well. In our car-borne communities in this day and age, all too often we don't really get to see our neighbours, but with NHW we do !

New Residents' Welcome Pack

organised via South Bucks' District Council these are now available, and any New Resident can collect one from Foreman King, our local Estate Agent on Hollybush Hill.

….. and finally

Two Policemen , chasing a burglar on foot, left their car open and his accomplice stole it. The Officers had stopped to investigate when they spotted a man in a car - the getaway driver - and he sped off, so they gave chase on foot. The driver's accomplice then emerged from the house, and finding the Police car with keys in the ignition, drove off !
